One step ahead
The film industry is constantly changing technologically, and we get the opportunity to explore this through creative productions for our YouTube channel. This is done by sponsors giving us their latest equipment to produce videos where we use it. This gives us access to new technology and new opportunities, and their brand or product is introduced to the world.
An example is the video below. There we built a futuristic sci-fi street in our studio, and used virtual production and focus trackers from HTC to film a scene. Our green screen was then replaced with a 3D world (UnrealEngine) to extend the set. In addition, the video feed was live keyed (Blackmagic Design) so we could see what the finished result would look like, live.

Making a film company
In our popular series Making a Film Company, the audience gets to know us better as a production company. The series started in 2019 and after 28 episodes we are now in season 4. Each episode has an average of 52,000 views and is about everything from when Anders gathered his friends to start the company, to when we got a new office, built a studio and bought our first camera.
The series has been a great inspiration to many and is used as a teaching tool at several universities in the United States, among others. We believe that honesty, sharing our experience and stories that are relevant to others, are part of the reason for its success. Watch some of the episodes below.
Major collaborations
Through the channel, we have had the opportunity to collaborate with a number of major players in the industry such as Nikon, Aputure, SmallRig, DJI, DZO and many more. They have contacted us after seeing our content, which in turn has given us the opportunity to create commercials for a number of major brands. In 2024, we even had the opportunity to create our own product together with SmallRig, namely the SmallRig X Andyax Creator ToolKit , the ultimate toolkit for filmmakers.
See how we created our very own product with SmallRig. We show the planning phase, production and launch of the product, and take you on the set of the commercial we created.
How it started
The channel was started by our creative producer, Anders, over 15 years ago. The name came from a gaming username Anders had as a teenager. Eskild Fors was Anders' closest partner on the channel, and Thomas Leypoldt composed the music (listen to the soundtrack for the channel here ). The channel has always focused on sharing filmmaking experiences in a fun way and inspiring others to make films.
After several good years with, among other things, a crowdfunded film “The Camera Hack” and several viral videos, Andyax had an abrupt change in 2017, when Eskild passed away. The memorial video about Eskild received 100,000 views over a weekend, and the expressions of support from followers were part of the reason why Anders wanted to continue the channel. Watch the memorial video here .
The next big highlight was the launch of VJUS and the Making a Film Company series. Since then, the videos have taken us on countless projects, showing both the ups and downs. The videos mainly consist of behind-the-scenes footage from projects and experimentation with various film equipment.
A selection of videos
In this video we show how you can use colored lights in film. We take you on a test shoot, where we show how we film a fictional scene with colored lights in focus.
In 2022, the whole team traveled to South Africa together. We collaborated with Insta 360 and everyone competed to make the best video with their 360 camera. Here we get to know ourselves better as filmmakers and show the different approaches we have to the job.
Join us for a promotional shoot. This time it's for a new gimbal from Zhiyun. The video shows how we plan and execute the entire production.
